The Kids' Run for Nature was founded in 2015 by two 10-year-old environmentalists, Jasmine de Pencier and Jett Jardeleza-Toole, who were "worried about endangered animals and wanted to do something to protect them." Funds raised at the Kids' Run for Nature supports the conservation of wild species and their habitats across Canada, while getting kids and their families active in local natural communities.
This event was inspired by and continues to be driven by kids, who are passionate and motivated to effect positive change for the environment by being active and healthy.
The health and safety of our young nature enthusiasts and their supporters, volunteers and staff is our top priority. For that reason, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Kids’ Run for Nature events. We continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates regarding future events as soon as they are available.
Weather appropriate running attire: Comfortable running shoes, hats, sunscreen and/or rain coat. Please bring your own well-labeled, reusable water bottle to fill up at our hydration stations.
Don't forget to bring your Kids' Run for Nature Pledge Form and donations with you on the day of the run.
There is not a secure bag check area at the run. Please leave your valuables at home or bring someone to hold your items while you run.
Celebrate your accomplishment with a healthy snack and then check out the amazing natural green space of the park.
There are many opportunities to get involved. From hosting a run in your community to donating to a runner, there's something for everyone.
