Yes. All climbers who register online have already accepted the waiver during the registration process. Climbers who register on the day of the event (if space permits) will have to provide their information on a pledge form and sign a waiver before they can climb.
For climbers under 18 years of age, the online form requires that a parent or guardian is there to witness the acceptance of the waiver. A climber under the age of 18 registering on the day of the event is required to present a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. The best way to create a team is have one person register a team and become team captain here. The team captain then shares the link to the Team Page (found in their registration confirmation email or in their Participation Center once logged in) and everyone can sign up using the JOIN TEAM button. The team captain can also invite team members directly through their Participant Centre.
There is a $25 registration fee to be paid when signing up and then there is a minimum fundraising goal of $125 for each team member to be reached before the event date to be able to participate. We have many fundraising tips to help everyone reach their goals here.
The benefit of being part of a team is as long as the total amount raised as a group (on each team member personal fundraising pages and on the team page), divided among the team members adds up to $125 each then everyone will qualify. This calculation takes place ‘manually’ at event day registration and is not reflected on our website.
Online donations, made on our secure website, are by far the best method for individuals to sponsor your climb. Your sponsors will immediately be sent their e-receipts. Your personal fundraising page will register new donations towards your fundraising goal as soon as they have been made online.
When dealing with cash and/or cheques from donors, you have two options:
For online donations a tax receipt will automatically be issued for donations of $5 or more. Tax receipts for online donations are automatically emailed from our system. If you donated and have not received your receipt, please contact our events team at events@wwfcanada.org or 416-484-7700.
For offline donations of $20 or more, you will receive a tax receipt in the mail after the event.
You can see the list of top individual and team fundraisers on the bottom of the climb homepage.
The Platinum Panda Experience is a front of the line experience awarded to climbers who have gone above and beyond to fundraise over $1,000.
