Yes. You can register on the day of the climb if there are still available spaces, you have the required fundraising minimum and check in on event day before 9:30 a.m. Remember, space is limited, so new climber registrations will depend on availability.
Climbers who register on the day of the event will have to provide their information on a pledge form and sign a waiver before they can climb. Climbers under the age of 18 that register on the day of the event are required to present a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.
Yes. All climbers who register online have already accepted the waiver during the registration process. Climbers who register on the day of the event (if space permits) will have to provide their information on a pledge form and sign a waiver before they can climb.
For climbers under 18 years of age, the online form requires that a parent or guardian is there to witness the acceptance of the waiver. A climber under the age of 18 registering on the day of the event is required to present a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. You can download the waiver from the “Fundraising tips” page. It can be printed off and signed before the event. This way, if the parent or guardian is not accompanying the climber, they do not have to be present when the waiver is handed in during event day check-in.
Climbers under 12 years of age must be at least 42 inches tall (or 3.5 feet) and accompanied by a registered adult climber during their climb.
Online donations, made on our secure website, are by far the best method for individuals to sponsor your climb. Your sponsors will immediately be sent their e-receipts. Your personal fundraising page will register new donations towards your fundraising goal as soon as they have been made online.
When dealing with cash and/or cheques from donors, you have two options:
For online donations a tax receipt will automatically be issued for donations of $5 or more. Tax receipts for online donations are automatically emailed from our system. If you donated and have not received your receipt, please contact our events team at email@example.com or 416-484-7700.
For offline donations of $20 or more, you will receive a tax receipt in the mail after the event.
In compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines, if you choose to receive a benefit for your donation, as is the case with fundraising rewards, you may not be eligible for a tax receipt. To ensure that you are eligible for fundraising rewards and to receive a tax receipt, please donate to another climber.
When someone self-donates and receives fundraising rewards that are valued at less than 10 per cent of the donation and less than $75, a receipt for the full donation amount is issued. This meets the CRA requirement of the benefit received being less than or equal to 10 per cent of the donated amount less than or equal to $75. Examples:
Please note: fundraising rewards for amounts of $1,000 or more may not be awarded at the event. If they are not awarded at the event, they will be mailed to climbers shortly after your climb.
You can see the list of top individual and team fundraisers on the bottom of the climb homepage.
The Platinum Panda Experience is a front of the line experience awarded to climbers who have gone above and beyond to fundraise over $1,000. Platinum Panda climbers will check in to climb in the exclusive Platinum Panda lounge where everything from coat check to coffee, snacks and prizing will be taken care of. They will be personally escorted from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to the CN Tower and bypass all lines to begin their climb.
Climbers who choose to donate their prizes back at registration are still eligible to receive the Platinum Panda Experience and their personalized climb T-shirt.
Yes, there is a limit. As a security control, the system allows up to 500 contacts to be emailed at one time.
If you would like to send an email to all your contacts, and have more than 500 contact emails, you can divide your list and send the email in blocks of up to 500.
Please contact our Events Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-484-7700 for assistance making any changes to the team captain
